Cameron started his career in the front-of-the-house while attending Texas Tech University. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management he enrolled in The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. While studying in Napa Valley, California, Cameron expanded his studies by working as a teaching assistant in the wine college. Cameron took his first culinary positions under Chef Norman Van Aken at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. It was here that he began to hone his skills, working his way up to Chef de Parte. From there, Cameron took a job under Dean Fearing at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, where he worked his way up to Sous Chef. While working at Fearing’s, the Restaurant won numerous awards, including “No. 1 Hotel Restaurant in the Country” and “Top 10 Hotel Restaurants in the World.” Most recently, Cameron helped open a fine dining seafood restaurant in the West 7th District of Fort Worth, Texas. Lubbock is lucky to have West’s creations right here in our own backyard and from the sound of it, there may be more delicious creations coming from the kitchen of Cameron West soon!

In this episode, Cameron discusses his desire to make food that brings people from all walks of life together, the path that led him back to Lubbock, and what’s on the horizon for the West family!
